Web Design encompasses many different skills and disciplines — graphic design, interface design, authoring, usability and search engine optimization. At VisuaLiving Media we enjoy landing creative ideas that will make your website unique and functional. Whether you need a one-pager or a multi-page, multi-functioning site with database capabilities and/or e-commerce, we can design a site with quality content that will reach your target audience and meet or exceed your goals.

VisuaLiving Media also designs logos, presentations, and print collateral.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT US

Over the last 7 years Ms. Savage has worked for us developing our website. She has a vast knowledge of web design, and has helped us with our marketing and web design ideas, as well as, running my multiple “Go Daddy” accounts. I have found her to be extremely responsible and always willing to work out problems, along with coming up with innovative designs. Her energy and commitment has always been there for us, and when time was of the essence, Janet always came through.  Ms. Savage has contributed to a lot of my company’s success in bringing in new customers and awareness of my product.

Janet is a skilled web designer who paid attention to every detail of our design, layout, color pallet, branding, presentation, and search engine optimization. The design and navigation were spot on. Her insight, expertise, and enthusiasm were first rate. Janet also designed over-sized banners for trade shows, our business cards, and flyers. I would not hesitate to recommend Janet for any website or graphic design project. She was amazing to work with!

It was a pleasure to work with Janet Savage for the Westchester Rockland Dietetic Association website.  We decided to completely re-do the website when we realized our site was out of date.  Janet was amazing to work with from start to finish.  She has the expertise and knowledge about technology and design and helped create a fresh, easy-to-navigate website.  The design of the website was very user-friendly and we still get compliments from WRDA members and the public.  Janet was very reliable during the project, and always answered questions in a concise and timely manner.  I would recommend her highly.

We have worked with Janet and Sherman on several projects for two non-profit organizations we were involved with. We needed a website for both and being a complete novice about website development, I left the design, development, and implementation totally in their hands. The results were great – they created two graphically pleasing websites with easy-to-use navigation. Janet not only helped us with the website, but designed fundraising materials and brochures as well.  Sherman and Janet photographed several of our events and they created a beautiful and moving video piece which was shown at a major fundraiser. They were a delight to work with, highly professional, well versed in design, and the deliverables were excellent. Sherman’s photography was always stunning. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or to use them again in the future.

WEBSITE CASE STUDIES

Case Study 1 – Treasure Cat Charters

Treasure Cat Charters: A luxury catamaran charter in the Bahamas

website-graphicProblem:
The charter company was a relatively new business that needed a web presence. They already had a business Facebook page, a Twitter account, and an Instagram account, but they also needed a more comprehensive site that would showcase their catamaran and provide all the pertinent information someone would need to plan a vacation aboard their boat. The owners wanted a website that was enticing and showcased their boat Callisto, included content about the Abaco Islands where it is moored, and contained specific information about charters.

Solution:
After doing some research on the charter industry and learning more about our client’s specific goals, we came up with a creative direction. With a selection of images and quality content in hand, our approach was to create the Treasure Cat Charter website with the following design elements:

  • a clean look and eye-catching imagery
  • a tropical color scheme
  • uncomplicated navigation
  • slideshows of high quality images that download quickly
  • interesting and informative text
  • a blog
  • downloadable forms for the charter
  • links to all sorts of information as well as links to their other social media sites

Case Study 2 – Umbrellas of Unity

Umbrellas of Unity:  A not-for-profit Social Justice Initiative

Problem:
Umbrellas of Unity is an initiative that was started to address the deep divide that exists among the American population and to adjust the focus to one of Unity rather than division. They wanted multiple platforms to share their mission and vision.

Solution:
VisuaLiving went to work on a multi-pronged approach for the project. First, we created a video to introduce the projects. Next we photographed volunteers who support the initiative under their symbolic Umbrellas of  Unity. The videos and images were hosted on the newly created Facebook page and website. On the website visitors can also take the Umbrellas of Unity Pledge, read and post to the UofU Facebook page, and follow them on Twitter. There is also a “share your story” page with videos and a blog.

Case Study 3 – Lion Associates

la-3Lion Associates is a full service content marketing and PR firm.

Problem:
This content marketing/PR firm already had a web presence which contained information on all the services they offered. What they wanted was a presence that focused entirely on their technical writing capabilities.

Solution:
What we designed for Lion Associates was a simple yet informative and creative single page website that sits at a unique URL, separate from the main website. This allows the client to promote just their niche technical writing capabilities to potential clients, without a prospect having to forage through significantly larger company website. It has information about their services, their process, contact information, and even a quiz, and both sites are linked to one another.

Case Study 4 – WRDA

WRDA is a regional chapter of a national dietetic association.

Problem:
The association was in dire need of an updated website. Not only did their site look outdated but virtually every time it needed to be updated, they had to hire a freelancer to do the update. They had a database but it was not integrated into the website; therefore all records, notifications, and member letters were done by hand or printed and mailed out to the members via snail mail. It was not only time consuming but very expensive for this non-profit organization.

Solution:wrda-3
They needed a website solution with a user-friendly back-end and a membership platform. What we created was a site that integrated their membership database from Excel and automated the entire membership process. We also gave them a password-protected membership section. Through the website, they can now:

  • apply for and automatically renew memberships
  • send out invoices
  • track payments and renewals
  • get listed in searchable online database available to the public
  • automate membership events and registrations
  • send emails and newsletters
  • easily post job openings to their members in the member section
  • update the local population on the latest nutrition news

After presenting a short training session with several of their members, volunteers were able to completely manage the updates without paying for an outside consultant.
